Surroundings
Set out from the park to explore the interesting places nearby by walking along or across the various waterways. Explore the surrounding low moors via the park's walking and cycling trails. Visit Vollenhove, a former Zuiderzee town with a long trading history. Or take a fairytale boat ride in Giethoorn, the Dutch Venice.
Weerribben Wieden National Park
Walk, bike, or sail through northern Europe's largest contiguous low moor swamp area. You will explore the labyrinth of lakes, ditches, mysterious-looking marsh forests, and flowery hay meadows together. Experience nature's nursery.
Blokzijl
Blokzijl is a small, old port town on the outskirts of the Weerribben Wieden National Park. Explore the picturesque center, complete with old warehouses, canals, and bridges. Alternatively, relax on the quayside terraces.
Giethoorn
As you cruise through the canals of this "Northern Venice," you can sense how much the Dutch love to live with and on the water. Those thatched farmhouses are a sight to behold. Are you hungry? Visit one of the restaurants on the water.
Schokland
Visit Schokland and learn about an important period in Dutch history. This former island represents the Dutch struggle against water and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
Vollenhove
Vollenhove will delight history, nature, and culture enthusiasts. Vollenhove was an important trading post in the 16th century, and today the town is known for its historical center, which includes beautiful monumental buildings and churches.

A day at the beach with the kids? Then go to Swimfum. A swimming pool with both exciting and relaxing attractions. Swimfun is suitable for people of all ages. So you can swim laps at your leisure or freely swim and play.
Drents-Friese Wold National Park
This national park is one of the Netherlands' largest contiguous nature reserves. Here, various types of research and information are conducted. You walk through vast areas of shifting sands, forest, and heath.
Dinoland
Do you dare come face to face with over 100 dinosaurs that have come back to life after millions of years? Walk through Dinoland Zwolle and go back to the dinosaur era. There are also fun activities such as crafts and a climbing course.
Zwolle
Zwolle is a true Hanseatic city, meaning that dynamism bursts from this historic and chic city. Walking through the vibrant city centre, you will discover many great shops, charming restaurants, fascinating museums and much more.
Kampen
Experience the lively atmosphere of Kampen, a medieval Hanseatic city. The city has a historic core with over 500 monuments and is ideal for a long city walk. Thereafter, unwind at one of the many outdoor cafés along the IJsel River.
Elburg Museum
In this former abbey, you can discover the history of Elburg and the surroundings. Enjoy the escape routes and use our interactive tools to discover stories from Gelderland. The museum also includes temporary exhibitions.
Zwaluwenburg Estate
A beautiful, wooded estate on the transition between the high land of the Veluwe and the low fertile land along the Zuiderzee. The estate offers a wonderful cycling and hiking area. Admire the typical farmhouses and country manors.
