The area is perfect for scenic walks and cycling trips through the beautiful Balloërveld nature reserve. You can also easily hire an e-bike at the park to explore further.

A beautiful heathland with small peat lakes, pine forests and drifting sand areas. The perfect spot for long walks and bike rides.

Drenthe swimming lakes

For a unique experience, guests of all ages can enjoy swimming in the local natural lakes. Our top recommendations are the Iberenplas and ’t Nije Hemelriekje.

Hunebed tombs

A holiday in Drenthe isn’t complete without seeing the prehistoric hunebeds. There are over 50 of these ancient stone tombs to discover, including one within walking distance in Rolde.
