Surroundings

Castle Mauterndorf

Lake Millstättersee
This is one of Carinthia's deepest and most watery lakes, measuring 142 meters. The ideal hiking location. The Millstatt monastery and church are worth a visit for culture buffs.
Nockalmstrasse
The 34-kilometer road between Innerkrems and Ebene Reichenau is one of the most varied and beautiful Alpine roads you can travel on by car, motorcycle, or bus. Along the way, you'll see green peaks and vast alpine meadows.

Lungau Outdoor Park
Lungau's outdoor park is an adventure for both young and old. In the outdoor park, you can do everything from Zorb Balling to SUPing to swinging 10 meters in the air. Compete against each other on the climbing wall or the climbing course.
Fallbach water adventure park
The park is set in a valley where water cascades 200 meters down a rock face. You will discover everything about water along the path leading to this waterfall. Enjoy the soothing sound, inhale some fresh air and feel more energised.
Castle Sommeregg
Sommeregg Castle's oldest parts date back to the 12th century. Originally a real battlement, it is now a museum and restaurant. Every year, the knights' games are held here, attracting a large number of enthusiastic visitors.

Taurachbahn
Travel through the Lungau region aboard Austria's highest narrow gauge railway. The meticulously preserved steam engines and passenger cars offer a period setting into which you can fully immerse yourself.
Widlifepark Schlögelberger
A unique wildlife park. Red deer can be found in this park if you can identify their tracks, which is a skill required for everyone who wants to learn about wildlife. They may also be fed along with a guide. Alternatively, go for a walk with an alpaca.
Finstergrün Castle

Angersee and Zwerfenbergsee lake
Angersee and Zwerfenbergsee are two popular lakes surrounded by towering peaks such as the Meisterspitze and Pöllerhöhe, both of which stand over 2,600 meters high. An incredible sight.
Riedingtal Nature Park
You're in the midst of breathtaking scenery, complete with high peaks, green valleys, clear mountain lakes, and rustic alpine meadows. Have a drink at one of the alpine farms, where the view is often worth it in addition to the local produce.
