All Landal holiday resorts are situated in the heart of nature, offering guests peace, space, and a close connection with the natural environment. We believe it is our responsibility to protect and preserve these natural surroundings, that is why we are committed to continuous improvement. By working together, we can ensure that every holiday is not only unforgettable, but also good for the environment and society.
Carbon countdown
Landal emits around 46 kilotonnes of CO₂ annually. That’s comparable to 11,500 cows or 550,000 one-way journeys to London. The biggest culprits? Gas, propane and vehicles. But there’s good news: since 2025, we’ve been using 100% sustainable European wind energy, which is completely CO₂-free. With ‘Carbon Countdown’, we’re now tackling the rest: reducing gas consumption through smart savings, electric heating, gas- and propane-free construction, and electric logistics. Step by step, we’re moving towards zero emissions.
Nature Nurture
Biodiversity is declining worldwide, and we are feeling the effects: less nature means less fresh air, less clean water and less greenery. At Landal, we manage numerous green spaces and have a responsibility to protect them. Through our Nature Nurture programme, we are enhancing biodiversity and conserving water. We manage our parks in a more natural way, without chemicals and by leaving more space for wildflowers, bees and native plants. We are also reducing our water footprint through water-saving measures and a better understanding of our consumption.
Waste warrior
Together with our customers, we produce between 11 and 14 kilotonnes of residual waste every year. This is equivalent to the waste produced by 70,000 households and generates an additional 250 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – the equivalent of 3,000 flights to London. A real waste for the environment and for our wallets. With ‘Waste Warrior’, we’re tackling this problem. We’re buying more responsibly, reusing more, donating discarded items and improving our waste sorting. Small choices that make a big difference.
Work Wellness
Through our Work Wellness programme, we are committed to creating pleasant, safe and fair working conditions – for all our employees and for our partners. Because work happiness is for everyone. Our goal? To outperform other companies in our sector in terms of engagement, health and wellbeing. Because when our people feel good about themselves, it shines through in everything we do. To make work easier, we are also trialling smart solutions such as robots, to help keep workloads manageable, both now and in the future.
Destination Care
At Landal, we not only want to offer wonderful holidays, but also to be a good neighbour. Through Destination Care, we actively contribute to the development of the regions where we operate. In collaboration with local authorities, businesses and residents, we enhance general well-being, sustainability, social inclusion and safety. Our holiday parks bring economic value whilst fostering social cohesion, a sense of community and local pride. That is why we invest in good relations with local residents and also encourage our partners to get involved at a local level.
Conscious Business
Conscious business – or conscious and ethical entrepreneurship – is not a trend, but the future. It’s not just about making a profit, but also about what you leave behind. For people, the planet and future generations. Acting ethically means doing what is right, even when no one is watching: treating people and resources with respect, being transparent about choices and their impact, and prioritising the long term over quick profits. Conscious business builds trust, attracts loyal customers and motivated staff, and truly makes a difference.
