Surroundings Residence Berger Duinen
Landal Residence Berger Duinen is the perfect base for a walk or bike ride through nature. And for mountain bike lovers, there is a great track near Bergen. Cycle south through the dunes to shop in Bergen aan Zee. Or experience Callantsoog just north of the park.
The Schoorl Dunes
If you love peace and quiet and nature then put on a sturdy pair of shoes and discover the Schoorlse Duinen, the widest and most varied nature reserve on the Dutch coast. Here you can discover lovely hiking and bike trails.
Alkmaar cheese market
View, smell and taste the wide range of cheese in the Dutch Cheese Capital. For centuries, the Cheese Market has been held on Friday mornings from March to September. Stroll past the shops and relax on a terrace for a nice drink.
Mystical artists’ village of Bergen
Around the ruined church, you will find an art market and many cosy boutiques for shopping. Then you can relax with a snack or drink in a restaurant. The film house in the Bergerbos is highly recommended, thanks to its special location.

De KlimVallei climbing park
Looking for a challenge? There are four spectacular climbing courses, graded by difficulty and height. Want to stay at 4 to 6 metres, or do you dare to brave the 8-metre course? Round it off with one of the ziplines. Wonderful for all ages.
Sea aquarium, Bergen aan Zee
Visit the museum and discover more than 300 different species of fish! Take a journey through the Amazon jungle, passing piranhas and creepy reptiles. Stroke a ray at our Ray Reef and stand face-to-face with sharks and poisonous lionfish.
The Climbing Dune
Right in the heart of Schoorl, you will find the 51-metre-high climbing dune. Once you reach the top, you can walk straight into the forest and dune area. Children especially love this. Run up it quickly, only to roll off laughing.

The village of Groet
The village of Groet welcomes you - this villages breathes history, and many national monuments can be found here. On a mound is a white church from the 18th century, where you can encounter sea, forest, dune, dike and polders. Greetings!
The Fairy Doors route
Come to the Schoorl Dunes to visit the fairies. They play with animals in the dunes: Fier the fairy loves playing with ants. The fairies themselves seldom appear, but on the route through the play forest, you will find their little doors.
Fort Kijkduin
Fort Kijkduin was built under Napoleon’s orders in 1811, and history plays a central role here. All the underground passageways and exciting rooms can be viewed. You can also visit the North Sea aquarium featuring marine life from the area.

Het Zwanenwater nature reserve
Het Zwanenwater is the region’s gem. Here you can enjoy the orchids in full bloom around the dune lake in June. Walk through a beautifully varied dune area, and don't forget to visit one of the observation huts.
Colourful bulb fields
Those heading to North Holland in April or May will experience an especially colourful scene. The region has numerous bulb fields where crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips bloom beautifully during spring. A Dutch festival of colour.
Marine museum
At the museum, you will discover much of the history of the Dutch Navy. You will see uniforms, weapons and learn about the maritime heroes of the past. Climb aboard the museum ships and look through the periscope of the Tonijn submarine.
