Huizen beach resort
Enjoy the feel of sand between your toes, grab a seat on one of the restaurant terraces or hire a boat and set sail for yourself: in the resort town of Huizen (on the Gooi lake) you can do it all.
Like Laren, Blaricum is one of the typical gems of the Gooi region. Stroll past stylish boutiques in the old village centre or escape the hustle and bustle by exploring the rolling heath of the Heidevelden, punctuated by many of the thatched-roof farmhouses found in this area.
Fresh asparagus, straight from the field. You can buy them only a fifteen-minute walk from the park, at the Boereblij farmhouse. Besides asparagus (their specialty), you are welcome to come pick up some fresh eggs, syrup, jam and artisanal honey.
Blaricum Get to know the Blaricummer heath’s permanent residents: the herd of sheep who live at De Schaapskooi farm. Your chances of spotting the herd near the farm are greatest early in the morning and at the end of the day.
There’s nothing like outdoor play in the countryside. Kids ages 4 through 14 are welcome to come and run wild amid the natural play elements. Here, you’ll find a creek, a tree-stump path and small ravines where children can spend hours enjoying imaginative play with sand and rocks, climbing trees and building forts.
