De Dijk in Volendam

Volendam Marken Express

The fleet of the Volendam Marken Express is moored at the jetty in the port of Volendam and takes you to and from Marken - a former fishing village with houses on wooden stilts on the (peninsula) island right in front of Volendam. Buying a ticket online is easy. Have fun!

Edam

Edam is one of the best kept secrets in the Netherlands. A historic town where you can marvel at beautifully decorated monuments within an old fortress, often adorned with beautiful bricks. Edam was one of Holland's most important trading cities in the 14th and 15th centuries. In particular, the cheese trade and shipbuilding brought Edam to great prosperity. Walk through this beautiful historic city and admire the beautiful old bridges and the beautiful vistas.
