The region of Carinthia has lots to offer. The miles of mountain roads take you to historic castles and fortresses. Hohe Tauern National Park is ideal for walking or cycling. Don't forget to stop somewhere nice for a picnic. That's a holiday!

Hiking through Katschberg

The Nockberge National Park is a protected area of natural beauty with remarkable flora and fauna. Woods, moorland and mountain lakes characterise the landscape. So it's the perfect start for a walk. The Pöllatal is another beautiful nature area, and largely car-free. A walking route through the area takes you past some lovely spots. Take the whole family, because on the way you'll find signs with interesting information and the children can solve all kinds of puzzles. 

The Katschberg countryside is also ideal for Nordic Walking. The fresh mountain air makes you feel uplifted and energetic. You can choose from many different routes, there's something for everyone. For more information about walking routes, please feel free to come and visit the park reception. 

Scale the mountains by bike

From the valley to the summit - in Lungau there are various mountain bike trails that are sure to leave you exhausted! Will you opt for the easier Hollerberg route or take up the challenge of the Moosham route?
