Hiking and cycling

Welcome to the walking and cycling paradise - here, you have many options. Both active and relaxing, you can explore nature in all its glory. Relax completely in the fresh forest air. Take an active cycle tour over the volcanic hill or walk down the mountain and enjoy the view of the valley from the 'Eifel-Blicke'.

Don't forget your hiking boots!

After a delicious breakfast, put on your hiking boots and head for the mountains. In the Volcanic Eifel, you will discover the traces left behind by the volcanic activity. Visit the Steffeln and Eichholzmaar volcano garden, an educational trip for young and old. Or explore the landscape of the Eifelsteig with its endless choice of hiking trails. The Eifel also offers various Nordic Walking routes.

Cycling through the mountains

Are you going to accept the challenge and get on the bike? It might be a tough trip but it's worth the effort. Through the volcanic landscape, forests, deep valleys and past the stunning reservoir. Go out and discover, either together or with the whole family. The Kyll Cycle Route promises a family-friendly trip in a flat to slightly hill area, with cycle paths to Trier and Belgium. Choose the Eifel-Höhen route for a climb and to enjoy stunning panoramas, or get on a mountain bike to follow the Cycle Route Network in the VulkanBike trail park. You can also experience a speedy descent in the Mountainbike Park Hürtgenwald.
