Our park is surrounded by water. A paradise with unparalleled water sports facilities: you can go sailing, surfing, sailing a sloop, canoeing or stand up paddling. You will find a recreational beach about a kilometre from the park, a great place to relax while the children build beautiful sandcastles.

Visit the charming historic town of Joure, lively Heerenveen and the vibrant Frisian capital of Leeuwarden. Near the park you will also find several museums: The Frisian Maritime Museum, the Planetarium, Aquazoo Friesland and Kameleondorp.

Looking forward to sampling gourmet cuisine during your holiday? There are several restaurants in the area around the park where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a tasty snack, healthy lunch or leisurely dinner. Pick up your daily groceries in the supermarket in the city centre of Terherne.
 Kids
Experience many beautiful moments with the whole family in and around the water. The kids will have fun in a rowboat, learning how to sail or trying their first stand up paddle session. Visit the Kameleondorp near the park and step into the world of Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer, the skippers of the Kameleon.
 Sports and games
Have a great time on and around the water. Try to keep your balance on a stand up paddle board or hop in a canoe and paddle across the water. Catch the wind in your sails in a sail boat or experience the luxury of sailing a sloop. Along the way you have time for some fishing.
 Hiking and cycling
On foot or by bicycle, discover Friesland with its pretty little villages, many lakes and canals, endless pasture and beautiful nature reserves. Venture out into the wetlands and enjoy the peace and quiet. Go on a walk through the royal forest of Oranjewoud or take a cycle tour along the ‘Friese elf steden’, the eleven cities of Friesland.
