Schiermonnikoog. Enjoy the silence and get out and about.
The boat leaves every day at 9 am and returns to the park at 3 pm. The Wad ’n Dag package offers extra value and in addition to the boat ticket also provides you with transport by bus, entry to the Museum Zuidertoren and a delicious lunch. Tickets are available at the reception desk at the park.

Are your sailing skills a bit rusty? During the summer holiday, Landal Esonstad offers visitors a chance to brush up on their sailing skills. Together with an instructor you head out to sail on Lauwersmeer in a Polyvalk. Introduce your children to the joys of sailing by signing them up for sailing lessons in an Optimist. Please contact the reception for more information.
Walking across the mudflats
Wadlopen is a typical Dutch activity that offers an exciting and adventurous opportunity to explore the beautiful natural landscape around the park. At low tide, the water retreats to the point where you can walk across the bottom of the Waddenzee over the exposed sandbanks. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you can enjoy a walk across the mudflats. Several companies around the park offer these walks, both for beginners and more advanced walkers. For more information, please contact the reception at the park.
Come on board
Look! A seal! Come on board during seal season for a boat tour or excursions. Special seal tours will be organised. Or listen to the forest ranger’s stories while you enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lauwersmeer. The captain will tell you all about it! There are fantastic boat trips for both families and wildlife and bird lovers. Contact the park reception for sailing times, more information or reservations.
Whether you go onto the Lauwersmeer lake by boat or cast out your rod from a chair in the garden, fishing on and around the park is possible for park guests. Note: A fishing licence is required in and around the Lauwersmeer. You can purchase this at the park reception for € 10 per week. Do you already have a Grote VISpas? Then the extra licence is not necessary. With a Kleine VISpas you do need to purchase the fishing licence. During a day trip with the M.S. Tender, you can also fish at sea for cod or mackerel. You also sail along the Wadden Islands where there is a chance that you can spot seals on the way.
