Cycling in Jutland

In North Jutland you will discover the Ancient Road Hævejen by bike. This route goes through the northern most point of Denmark, from Jyske Ås to Frederikshavn. North Jutland is ideal for cycling. This region has no heavy climbs and has many good cycle paths. It is far from busy traffic and has many attractions along the way.

In the west of Jutland, you can also experience the adventurous mountain bike routes. The routes around Slettestrand and Blåbjerg/Varde are some of the best in Denmark. Enjoy the exciting routes along the coast.

Ebeltoft is a beautiful area for cycling routes, with or without guide. At the Ebeltoft/Mols Tourist Office you will find more information about the Ebeltoft cycle routes. Near Ebeltoft there is also a 13 km mountain bike route in Sdr. Plantation.

In the north of Denmark you will also find four official MTB courses of different levels, all located in the attractive and typical northern Jutland countryside. In addition, there are several cycling routes that are perfect for longer trips on your mountain bike.

Explore Aarhus, the 2017 European Capital of Culture by bike. Follow the Must See Tour and not only cycle through the centre of the city but also through the oak forest and along the sea in the south of Aarhus. With the Urban Tour, you cycle past Aarhus’ favourite places such as nice coffee shops, old department stores and much more.

In 2013, a new 15 km cycle route was built in West Jutland. This route runs from Bork Havn to Skjern Å. You cycle through beautiful and varied fjord landscape. Take a break at the tower where you can spot birds, which has a beautiful view over the fjord.
