The Eilandpaviljoen on the beach of Marker Wadden is open daily. Stop by for a nice cup of coffee, or grab a small snack as you wiggle your toes in the sand.
Hiking
Discover the magnificent landscape of Marker Wadden on foot and explore the more than 12 kilometres of hiking trails. Along the way, you can observe the plants, insects, fish and birds that have discovered a new habitat for themselves here. Or venture out along the swampy stretches as you walk over the wooden plank trails. A walk on the island is a unique experience.
Bird watching cabins
You will find various bird watching huts scattered along the island's footpaths. If you’ve brought your binoculars, you’ll be able to spot countless birds from here. Watch sandpipers and plovers peck at food buried in the silt; see swimming birds at eye level from the Duikeend birdwatching hide; and get to know temporary residents of the island such as stilts, oystercatchers and spoonbills.
Beach
On the Marker Wadden islands, the beach is literally at your feet. From a refreshing stroll through the surf to building sandcastles in the sand: there’s something here for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to try a refreshing dip in the surrounding Markermeer lake as well. Wonderfully refreshing!

Welcome to Landal Marker Wadden

At the heart of a unique new nature reserve, you’ll find Landal Marker Wadden. Here, far away from the hectic pace of everyday life, you’ll experience true island living. You will stay on the Haveneiland (harbour island), one of the five expansive islands that make up the Marker Wadden archipelago. The four island houses on this island have been furnished with luxury and comfort in mind.

You can relax and unwind here following a lovely stroll on the beach. Take a hike and explore the natural beauty, then try a dip in the Markermeer lake. And don’t forget to bring your binoculars, as a wide range of bird species can be spotted in the nature reserve. Natuurmonumenten (Dutch Society for Nature Conservation) ensures that 100% of the rental revenue is used to benefit nature. This is our way of working together to secure new nature areas in our country.
