The park is surrounded by endless nature. Experience the large quiet wet heathlands of Drenthe: Dwingelderveld. Count sheep in the sheep pen Achter ’t Zaand. Or walk along the Flardenpad in Havelte: a unique audio visual walking trail. The park is also located near the Drents-Friese Wold.

You’ll find lots to do in the area. Visit amusement parks Sprookjeshof or Plopsa or one of the regional museums. To reflect on our more recent history, visit Westerbork. In Hunebed Centre Borger you will learn more about these special monuments that dot the landscape and that are older than the pyramids and Stonehenge.

 Swimming
If you are looking for a larger swimming pool with slides, head to swimming pool ‘De Bonte Wever’ in Assen. In summer, you can sunbathe and swim at the recreational beach. The region also offers a number of opportunities to swim in natural swimming holes or lakes.
 Kids
Cross the recreational lake on a pull-raft for a big adventure! Jump up and down on the air trampoline and have a great time in the playground. Test your driving skills at the Traffic Attraction park Duinen Zathe or visit the Prison museum.
 Golf
Fully relax with a round of golf at Golf Course Lauswolt. The Frisian landscape, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities, is the perfect escape. The course consists of two 9-hole loops and has a total length of 6,146 meters. After an active day on the course, relax with a bite to eat and a drink in the restaurant. This course requires a GVB golf licence.
 Walking and cycling
Endless kilometres of nature, ready to be explored. Take a walk through the largest drift sand dunes of the Netherlands, the Drents Friese Wold National Park. From your bungalow you can walk right into this nature area. Prefer to take the bike? You will find lots of cycling and mountain biking trails in the region.

Landal Hunerwold State is directly adjacent to the Drents-Friese Wold National Park, a holiday park with 97 detached accommodations. Nearby, nature, lime kilns and dolmens await your visit.

In Drenthe you can cycle the most beautiful routes along shifting sand dunes, fishing spots and recreation lakes. If you are going for a walk, take along a full picnic basket! You can have a delicious lunch or dinner at one of the restaurants in the vicinity of the park.
