Fancy exploring the countryside? A long cycle trip through the woods, surrounded by the greenery of the pine trees, and then looking over the sand stretching into the distance? Or a delightful walk to a local village for a coffee and some cake... there are so many choices!
Walking and hiking
The area of de Veluwe features some of the most beautiful walking trails in the country. These trails have been created by the Dutch Forestry Commission and showcase the best of the Veluwe. A number of trails are wheelchair accessible and/or designated for people with dogs.
De Veluwe offers outstanding wildlife spotting. One of the best locations is the wildlife viewing spot on Elsberg. Here you can spot the ‘Big Five’ of the Veluwe. Stay in the background, don't make too much noise, don't wear flashy clothes and let the location inspire you. The animals will surely come.
Cycling and mountain biking
De Veluwe offers a large network of bike routes. These routes take you to the main attractions of the Veluwe and allow plenty of opportunity to take a break. Along the way you will find benches where you can relax or stop for a snack. The Veluwe also offers excellent mountain bike trails. In 2019 a large number of new mountain bike trails will be built.
