Cycling routes

Sculptures Route
This well-known cycling route, with marvellous sculptures on both sides, takes you from Bad Gandersheim to Hildesheim. The Sculptures Route connects the first two monasteries in Lower Saxony.

Weser-Harz-Heide cycle route
The 400 kilometre long-distance route goes from the Weser Uplands, passing through the Harz and the Lüneburg Heath. Passing over hills and plateaus, you will come to the panoramic heath landscape where you can enjoy the spectacular views.
Adventure Mine
Why not try underground mountain biking in the old mine in Sonderhausen. The tight bends and turns are at between 500 and 700 metres below ground! The five different cycling routes promise an unforgettable experience on two wheels.

Mountain biking
The most northerly mountain range offers surprising peaks for mountain bikers. You can enjoy the extensive 1,800 km of trails along the network of routes. You can also ride a GPS route via Volksbank Arena.

Volksbank Arena cycling track in Harz

Volksbank Arena Harz has a total of 74 well signposted mountain bike routes over an area covering more than 40 square kilometres. Routes around the Brocken offer a huge variety and fantastic fun for cyclists who are seeking challenges, beginners and families. You will find lots of useful information on this website.

Bode Gorge routes
Choose between seven routes to explore the paths around the rugged and rocky valley to the north of the Alps. The Bode Gorge routes include tough routes with steep climbs. There are also routes through the woodland that are perfect for families and beginners. You can find more information about the different routes here.

Harz Mountain Bike Cup
This race event has been popular in Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia for a few years now. The main race takes place from April to the end of August in the Harz, Goslar, Braunlage, Clausthal-Zellerfeld and Schierke, Cheer on the best mountain bikers in a hard-won competition.
